4th of July Parade Updated 6/28/2009

Information Regarding the 4th of July Parade!!!

This year the 4th of July Parade will begin at 1:00.  We ask that you arrive between  12:30 and 12:45.  MPCC will be slot #42.  The parade begins in the commuter lot at the corner of Maple Street and Prospect Ave.  This parade follows a longer route than the winter parade so it is very important to wear good walking shoes (please no flip flops).  Be sure to wear your MPCC spirit wear and bring a water bottle. Parents: Since there are 100 entries for this parade and we are only #42, we will be done long before the rest of the parade.  Please be sure to meet us at Melas Park when we are done.  If you would like to walk in the parade with us, we would love to have you.  Also, if you would like to pull your cheerleading in a wagon instead of having her walk that is fine too.  We will provide you with red, white and blue poms.  There will also be a parent pulling a wagon that will hold all of the water bottles.

A special "Thank You" goes out to Phil and Sylvia Simpson.  They are the grandparents of Jordan Mims on our competition squad.  Phil and Sylvia have, so graciously, volunteered to be on the MPCC parade committee.             Thank you Phil and Sylvia!!!

We look forward to seeing all of our members at the parade!!

MPCC Updated 5/25/2009

The Mount Prospect Cheerleading Club (MPCC) continues to support the Mount Prospect Football Association (MPFA) at their football games from the end of August to early November.  The MPFA is a member of the Northwest Youth Football League (NWYFL.org), which has games in Mt. Prospect and also in the surrounding suburbs on Saturdays and Sundays.  Game schedules are available at the end of August.  MPFA also requests MPCC participants to get the PAYS (Parent Association for Youth Sports) certification.  This is offered by your local park district and would be your responsibility to obtain.

MPCC will also offer competitive cheerleading for those entering 5th grade through 8th grade by 9/1/09.  In addition to the mandatory requirement at weekly football games, the competition squad will participate in 3-4 all day events during the Fall around the Chicago Metropolitan area.  The skills focused on in competition are a cheer/dance routine including stunting.  These practices are separate from football game practices and more physically demanding.  The competition fee covers the costs at events, hair bows and socks.

Volunteers are ALWAYS welcome to assist in the continued success of MPCC.  Please consider donating your time as a coach or team mom by emailing us at gompcc@yahoo.com.
